Lara Guerro, Aoife Roaring Sun, and Thera Wharton begin their first year as Wildwood students, studying to be Heroes (or, in Lara’s case, trying to decide if the Hero track is the one for her). When they attend the first student party of the year, they accidentally stumble upon the dead body of Adam Talbot, a fellow Wildwood student, after he was sacrificed as part of a ritual to bring something powerful back from the dead. The Heroes that come to investigate call in one of Wildwood’s professors, who confirms that the ritual is Infernal in nature, likely carried out by an amateur Heritor. The three girls take it upon themselves to investigate the crimes, suspecting the professor of being the true culprit. Can they uncover the truth before another student is sacrificed?
